What's the farthest you've ever run, Reader?

For Jana, that's about 5 miles. (Way back in 2015...I don't love running!)

For Brett, that's 26 miles!

Recap: Brett ran the Jungfrau Marathon

On September 5, Brett ran "the most beautiful marathon in the world" from Interlaken up to Eigergletscher.

The first half is a fairly flat, slightly uphill half marathon.

The rest is literally climbing from the valley to the saddle. (To the same place where the train departs into the mountain to reach Jungfraujoch.)

His finished in 6hrs 31min 31sec!

He stopped just before the finish line for a kiss (and a high-5 with Little Aplin)

We saw him 5 times along the race, and we had a different poster each time!

His parents came into town to watch him run. So Jana, Little Aplin, and his parents got to cheer him on from 5 places along the route!

Dear Brett,

I'm so proud of how hard you've trained for months and months.

You've been disciplined.

You've studied and experimented with nutrition.

You've pushed yourself and learned when to rest.

And I have no doubt that you endured (and suffered) well for those 6.5 hours.

Thanks for modeling fitness and fun for our family!

CELEBRATING: both of our birthdays! Food (like a fancy meal in a nice restaurant) is our favorite way to ~~celebrate~~ splurge. (Although Jana will never turn down a spa or massage!)
