The white table cloth and dishes contrasted with the blue water outside the panoramic windows.

We were sitting beside the glass โ€” a romantic table for the honeymooners.

Our 2-week Swiss trip was winding down, but our 2-week-old marriage was still fresh.

After we toasted with a glass of wine๐Ÿฅ‚, we began to reflect on our Switzerland travels so far. (We only had a few more days in the land of cheese and chocolate.)

At some point, and older couple was seated at the next table.

On and off throughout the evening they struck up a conversation with us (graciously in English since we didn't speak their native French).

We learned that they were Swiss, lived nearby, had no children, and were married for 50+ years!

Their sage wisdom was overflowing with encouragement. They were still in love after all this time, and we wanted that too.

(PSA: 14 years later, we still are!)

๐Ÿ‘‰Was it annoying that they kept talking to us?

๐Ÿ‘‰Was it strange that they interrupted our romantic dinner?

๐Ÿ‘‰Was it odd that they wanted to spend their evening with strangers?

Not. At. All.

Our evening was enriched because of them.

And it became a highlight of our trip.

To this day, we still talk about this couple.

And regret that we didn't get their address or phone number or email. Because oh, we would have loved to continue a friendship with them!

We wanted to maximize our Swiss honeymoon and we were so curious to meet locals along the way.

(We did โ€” like the B&B owners near Montreux, or our British host in Mรผrren, and this older couple.)

...Why are we telling you this?

Because we want to help you plan a realistic Swiss itinerary that leaves room for all the things you hope for!

๐Ÿ‘‰Maybe you're like our friends who came this summer with 2 main goals: swim in an alpine lake and touch snow.

๐Ÿ‘‰Or like a lady I met on the train last week who just wanted to sleep in a hut high in the Swiss Alps.

๐Ÿ‘‰Or like us on our honeymoon, desiring to make friends with the Swiss people.

Let's help you craft an itinerary that looks amazing on paper (or your computer) and leaves room for the things you actually came for!

You can plan the perfect trip to Switzerland...and still miss it.

You don't have to skip the famous places.

You don't have to ignore logistics.

You don't even have to change your entire itinerary.

62% of Swiss speak Swiss German.

This is what they typically speak (and write) at home.

High German is the first foreign language they learn when they start kindergarten!

Since we live here, we're learning High German, and are learning to understand Berndeutsch (Bรคrndรผtsch).
