"There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes."

This is a popular saying in Switzerland. And after living here for 3 years, we see how the Swiss truly believe this.

Kids have outfits for hiking in the mountains, playing at the park, splashing in the rain, and spending an afternoon at the lake — and so do adults.

Now obviously, Reader, you're not going to pack an outfit for every situation. But you can plan layers and versatile pieces.

👉 That rain jacket is also perfect for a windy day.
👉 And hiking pants are often water resistant too.
👉 T-shirts can be worn under long sleeves for extra warmth.

But now let's focus on what to do when the skies are gloomy. Save these spots on your map or jot them down into your itinerary!

Happy Easter!

As Christians, we are so thankful to celebrate Easter!

You'll find 🍫 chocolate and 🐰 bunnies in our house, and we're having our Swiss family over for dinner.

(On the menu: this recipe with fresh lemon, and resurrection rolls of course)

Yet this day (weekend) is special to us because we get to celebrate that Jesus Christ triumphed over sin and death for eternity!

Because of Jesus, we experience radical grace, forgiveness of our sins, and eternal hope — and the invitation to join him in sharing His love with the world. What a gift!

(Cue this song 🎶)

More than 50% of the Swiss population are Christian.

33% are Roman Catholic

21% are Swiss Reformed (State Church)

And 5% belong to the Free Church

We personally attend a Free Church, which means we read and teach directly from the bible and are not affiliated with the state (government).

Behind the Scenes

A brief look at our lives behind the camera and computer.

LOVING: Jet Lag: The Game. They basically make countries into real-life board games! (And yep, we finally splurged on Nebula. IYKYK)

READING (Jana): This historical fiction series based on King Hezekiah. The blend of mystery, drama, suspense, and romance keeps me turning pages and breezing through the series. (But the realities of war and famine are raw — so be aware of that before you start reading.)

READING (Brett): The subtitle of this book says it all: "Ten Essential Habits to Form a Healthy and Holy Life."

IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: We're updating our website! Soon you'll be able to leave public reviews for each of our Guides. We will let you know once that feature is available!
